Henley Royal Regatta

The Henley Royal Regatta is a quintessentially English event which tends to get overshadowed by some of the other events in the summer calendar like Royal Ascot and Wimbledon. It is one of the highlights of the rowing community globally, attracting crews from around the world to compete on the only straight bit of the River Thames for miles.

The male spectators sport a colourful selection of rowing blazers and caps, the ladies have the hats that didn't make Ascot, and if the weather is good - as it was this year - then you have the makings of a great day.

The only fly in the ointment can be the traffic getting in and out of Henley - unless you fly in of course! The helipad at Henley sits close to the start line, and with the decline in corporate hospitality in recent years offers very reasonable landing fees compared to many of the other summer events. We flew in this year from our base at Cranfield in Bedfordshire in 20 minutes, with the added bonus of a great view of the course on arrival and departure.
